We envision a flood-resilient Houston where every household can capture and reuse rainwater to protect homes, conserve resources, and strengthen neighborhoods.

Owing to its massive urban sprawl, lack of zoning and miles of freeways, Houston is often referred to as the ‘Concrete Jungle’. Impervious surfaces (roads, roofs, parking lots) increase runoff volume and speed, contributing to drainage overload and sometimes leading to flooding in the local bayou and other catchment areas. Capturing and reusing rainwater could ease its drainage load.

Houston relies heavily on municipal water systems. Capturing rainwater reduces potable water use for landscaping and non-drinking purposes.
